The formula for building great companies is well understood.

Capital attracts capital. Density creates learning, inspiration and momentum. When founders build alongside each other they move faster than those who build alone. And when the first person in a room builds something real, it changes what everyone else believes is possible.

Stockholm figured this out. So did Helsinki, Paris and Amsterdam. The formula is not a secret, but it requires a dedicated environment to work. That environment has not existed in Gothenburg.

    Until now.

Gothenburg has what many of those cities could only wish for: world-class industrial depth, more engineers per capita than anywhere else in Sweden, and decades of applied technology built into the fabric of the region. The raw material for a world-class company creation environment is here. What has been missing is the infrastructure to concentrate it.

That is what we are building. And that infrastructure requires a different kind of commitment than venture capital: it requires organizations that take a long-term view of this city and are prepared to help build something that outlasts any single investment cycle.

The pace of change means the window for building this kind of environment does not stay open indefinitely. The regions that act now will have a structural advantage that is very difficult to overcome later.

    The window is now.

The companies being built in Gothenburg today will define the region's AI landscape for the next decade. The founders working here are not waiting: they are shipping, testing and learning at a pace that makes quarterly strategy cycles obsolete.

Partnership with ai:gothenburg is not a sponsorship. It is proximity to the people building what comes next, before it is public, before it is obvious, and before the window closes.

We are building this environment now. The partners who are part of it from the beginning shape the conditions under which it grows. Those who join later inherit those conditions.

    For enterprises and organizations

The hardest problems in your business are exactly what the founders here want to work on. The window to engage them is not permanent.

For organizations invested in Gothenburg's long-term development

We are currently closing the Foundational Partner group for 2026. A limited cohort of organizations will help establish the long-term infrastructure of ai:gothenburg. That group is being finalized now.

Foundational partners help establish the long-term infrastructure of ai:gothenburg.

    apply as foundational partner

Partner levels describe typical contributions. ai:gothenburg also collaborates with partners through projects, public funding and strategic initiatives.

    Structure and governance

    How partnership works

ai:gothenburg is designed as neutral ecosystem infrastructure.

The hub operates founder-first and independent from any single partner. The association structure ensures that governance follows the statutes and that the hub remains open, transparent and long-term sustainable.

Membership in the association and partner participation are separate, but many partners also choose to become members.

    How partner contributions are used

Partner contributions support the shared infrastructure of the hub, including:

    • Workspace and facilities
    • The founder environment
    • Events and ecosystem activities
    • Collaboration with industry, academia and public actors
    • International partnerships
    • Development of the regional AI ecosystem

Partners get a clear return: proximity to the region's most active AI founders, structured access to the founder pipeline, and first-mover visibility into deal flow.

The association structure ensures neutrality, no single partner can steer admission decisions or shape the builder community in their own interest.

The goal is to build long-term capacity for AI entrepreneurship in Gothenburg, and partners are the ones who make that possible.

Closing the Foundational Partner group for 2026

Take a Stake in the Region's Resilience

This is a call to the leaders who built this city to help us build its digital future. We are currently closing the Foundational Partner group for 2026, a limited cohort of organizations committed to securing Gothenburg's position as a global AI node.
